The first showing of this travelling exhibition was at the Travellers Gallery, Barry, in South Wales, UK, in early 2013. This show coincided with the recent transfer of Dyffryn Gardens from the Vale of Glamorgan Council to the National Trust on a lease of 50 years. Herbaceous Borders – Dyffryn Gardens (60 cms x 43 cms)

Many of the prints, influenced by the German Romantic painter Caspar David Friedrich, display the gardens’ dramatic and sometimes subtle seasonal transformations.

Wisteria in Pompeian Garden, Dyffryn (37 cms x 55 cms)

Bernard van Lierop began this series of prints in 2009 on an 18-month residency at Dyffryn with Vale of Glamorgan Artists (VOGA). He is still adding new prints to this on-going series.
